Add & Configure Subscribe Box

Many of our themes have at least one subscribe/opt-in/newsletter area featured as part of the theme demonstration. If you use an email marketing
service like Mailchimp, ConvertKit, MadMimi, Aweber, and so on, you’ll be able to connect your list and add an opt-in area on your website.

Step 1: Install Plugin

First, make sure you have Genesis enews Extended plugin installed & activated. Then, follow the instructions below depending on what service you are using.

How To Connect – Mailchimp

Follow the “basic installation” first, then complete this additional steps:

1. Insert your title and message to display before or after the form.
2. For the other fields, these are the values you should have:Form Action: *** SEE BELOW **
   E-mail Field: EMAIL
   First name field: FNAME

   First Name Input Text: [Whatever you want the box to say] E-mail Input Text: [Whatever you want the email box to say] Button Text: [Whatever you want the submit button to say]

** FORM ACTION FIELD **

You need to login to Mailchimp and find your form action code. To do this:

• Click on Audience
• From the drop down box in the right corner where it says “Manage Audience,” choose “Signup forms”
• Click on Embedded Forms
• Choose the ‘Unstyled’ option
• Scroll down to the box underneath “copy/paste onto your site.” We need the form action URL. It should start on the third line and end on the fourth. Here’s an example:

  Copy and paste that URL into the Form Action box in WordPress when you’re setting up the eNews widget.
